The following page outlines various events that are occurring in our community.
Throughout the year several flyers come into our school and parents become overloaded with paper. In an attempt to limit this and still provide our families with the information they require, we are trying this new format.
If you have a community event you would like posted on this site, please email us the information, ready to post, and we would be happy to pass it along to our school community.

Dear Families;
We are very excited to invite you to North Grenville District High School (NGDHS) to take part in our first annual Gingerbread House Decorating Event. Families can enjoy decorating gingerbread masterpieces together, to help raise money for two causes very important to the students at NGDHS. We will be contributing all proceeds of the event to Sarah’s HOPE and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
Sarah’s HOPE is a philanthropic group started in 2005 by a group of students and staff
who wanted to make a difference and get involved in charitable work. After having supported children in Langas, near Eldoret, Kenya, Sarah’s HOPE developed a new partnership with Moving Mountains Trust, a UK-based organization, in order to spread their actions to reach another group of disadvantaged children. We are working on building classrooms for Gatwe Primary School in Kenya; with two classrooms built and a third under construction, we’re well on our way, but we can’t do it without fundraisers like this one.
The Leukemia& Lymphoma Society of Canada is a non-profit health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. This was the second
charity chosen for this event, as a tribute to those in our community who have had to battle this disease. A number of members of our community have had experiences with cancer and so this was an organization many people could feel a connection to.
The event will be held on Saturday, December 1st in the NGDHS cafeteria. There will be two seatings; one from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and another seating from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. For the cost of $25 we will provide you with one pre-assembled gingerbread house, some icing, some basic candies and seating for 2 people. Each additional person to help decorate your house costs $10. Seating is pre-assigned and your table will be ready for you to get creative as soon as you arrive. Please feel free to come prepared with special food items and candies to decorate your house around a specific theme.
Seating is limited – so please call 613 258-3772 ASAP to register and help us make a difference!
